Last month we had a friend take some family pictures for us. She did an amazing job and really captured the personalities of the kids. They are really truly the best family pictures we have ever received. Well she would not let us pay her for taking the pictures, so I made her a card set as a thank you. (I guess it was a talent swap!) So I found out her favorite colors were pink and green and that she really likes polka dots. I added in some brown as a accent color and this is what I came up with a whole bunch of cards!
One of my stamping goals for the year is to use every stamp in every set I have before I can get a new one, as well as to stop hoarding and to use more accessories and stuff. With my very first SU! order I bought a couple of packs of the note cards and still had not used them, so they were one of the first things I pulled out. Too often I find myself buying a stamp set for one image and never using the others, well that is going to change! I started with the Define Your Life stamp set as well as the Defining Alphabet stamp set. I have used a few out of each but not the whole set and since they are some of my biggest stamp sets, I figured it was a great place to start. I took a few simple layouts and recreated them in different ways to create a card for each saying/ letter of the alphabet. Here are a couple of close up shots.
After I had them all made I didn't have anything even remotely close to the right size to put them all in so I made up a quick little box. Well it was supposed to be a quick box, but some how I kept messing up the measurements, adding the measurement to my score line instead of subtracting it, the whole thing was a mess and after several mis-scored pieces of paper later this is what I ended up with.
I hope that she likes them. By the way, if there are any of you in the Sacramento County Area and would like to get your pictures taken just let me know and I will get your info to her so that she can contact you!
